THE PACKHORSE INN
A village green, a thriving local shop, a meandering river and a local pub that is second to none - Moulton really is the quintessential rural idyll. Nestled in the folds of the West Suffolk hills The Packhorse Inn sits at the heart of its community. A stroll away from the medieval bridge that inspired its name and a short trot from all that Newmarket has to offer.
The first and founding inspiration for the Chestnut Collection, The Packhorse Inn remains the patriarch of the family - after all it's where it all began.
Award winning food, inspired by season and soil, is served from breakfast through to dinner by our cheerful, thoughtful team members. Always on hand to recommend the perfect pairing of menu and cellar offerings.
For those who have time to stay a while, our 16 individually designed bedrooms deliver a restful night's sleep, even for four legged friends who are most welcome to stay.

WINE AND DINE
Our kitchen is committed to sourcing the best ingredients the region has to offer, championing local food producers and their products, game, fish and meat, cheese, leaves and vegetables.

Inspired by season, taste and texture as well as occasion and appetite, our menus are continuously changing.

Our relaxed pub serves high-quality, but unpretentious long lunches and relaxed suppers, which extend into our sun-filled garden throughout the warmer months. There is a choice of four different dining areas in addition to the main bar, plus a private dining space, The Club Room, for special occasions.
STAY AND UNWIND
Our generously proportioned bedrooms within the pub and a converted coach house all have individual character - inspired by French country, Scandi cool and grand Parisian style. Some rooms light and airy, others dramatic and opulent, with views of the village green or garden terrace. Crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen, indulgent king and super king beds, thoughtfully selected antique pieces and free standing baths - there’s a lot to stay in bed for!

Amenities in our bedrooms include flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities, WIFI and Connock products.
THE BARN
Situated behind the pub, our Barn is
home to 8 bedrooms.
​
The Barn bedrooms are contemporary, with Scandinavian interior styling and vaulted barn ceilings. The downstairs rooms are light, bright, and airy. The upstairs rooms are larger and one even has a large skylight window.
All bedrooms have large showers and Super King beds. To book a bedroom in The Barn, select a room in the 'Large' or Extra Large' category.
DOG FRIENDLY
Wagging tails will always be welcome through our door. So much so, that we have created an overnight stay package and a special dog menu with your four-legged companion in mind.
Our team members are always on hand with doggy treats and tips for the best dog walks in our area, including the popular Three Churches Walk.
